Days flowed by day: the queen nursed her prisoner. His wounds were reluctant to heal and for three long months he remained almost motionless. Soon Tar'silla fell in love with the beautiful youth. She tirelessly listened to his stories: about serving God, about the secrets of herbalism, and then about sudden blindness and painful wanderings.. Only when the young man was strong enough and wanted to touch the hand of his savior, Tar'silla decided to reveal to him the whole truth about herself. The prisoner listened without flinching - and then Tar'silla asked the prisoner to become her eight-legged king. Her enchantment would have been enough to create a monster out of a young man, and at the same time give him eight seeing eyes. The young man refused her. Neither gratitude nor longing for the beauty of the world could make him fall in love with the godless monster. In parting, he touched his lips to one of the queen's terrible legs - and left the cave... Hidden story objects: | |
