Runaan did not leave those whose lives he defended before Evergrace. He allowed his friend, Esdo Sien, to lead people to the lands he called his own home. So our ancestors ended up in the blessed land of fogs and cherry blossoms: Anshu. Runaan himself, having retired to a refuge in the heavenly islands, transmitted his will to them through the esdo Siena. Later, the Intermediaries replaced the esdos, and for several hundred years there was no more honorable position in Anshu. It was believed that the Mediator stands "between heaven and earth" and is responsible to the Guardian for all the people, showing Runaan a true example of skill, nobility of spirit and wisdom - the virtues that saved humanity.
