Amalone's Diary Chapter 16Damn it.Why did I say I would come to this dirty, windy town?I should have kicked my editor's butt when he said, "Hey! Let's take a hot air balloon ride."And then when I got here and it was awful, what does he say?Something about how it would be an excellent experience to cook in extreme conditions at least once in your life. Then he suddenly hands me a backpack and throws me out!And then he tells me he'll be waiting for me back at the village?!Even as I write this now, I can't help but laugh out loud because of how ridiculous this all is.Okay fine. I figured I'd act like I'm on vacation and ended up spending way over the per diem. There were a few shops where I gave the editor's name, then ran.But since I need to eat to live, I'll write down some recipes.2 Potatoes (This thing is a potato, right? Please be a potato!)2 tablespoons of Sour CreamHalf stick of Butter2 pieces of Bacon3 pieces of Mekerna LeavesPinch of Bellion PepperCut a well-baked potato (or whatever this is) in half, mash it and wrap it up in moist Mekerna Leaves, then eat.Hmm, the soil in Rowen is surprisingly good, so even the freshly harvested potato-things are very sweet and delicious.I'll name this dish My Editor's Stupid Face.Since I got one meal figured out, let's be optimistic about this.I'm sure there's something that tastes good here.Still, when I return, my editor is gonna be the one seeing stars!(The torn pages are being blown away by the wind. Maybe there are more somewhere in Eliyabeck.) Hidden story objects: - 1 Rowen Recipe #1/4 - 2 Rowen Recipe #2/4 - 3 Rowen Recipe #3/4 - 4 Rowen Recipe #4/4 |
