Use shield gauges to defend yourself. During defensive stance, when an opponent attacks you the shield gauge is consumed. However, due to a strong defense posture, your movement speed is reduced by 50%.
During defensive stance, the shield gauge is consumed over time, and when the shield gauge is exhausted, the defensive position is released.
