Legend has it that when the first moguro came out of the water onto land, he thereby disobeyed the will of Giwena. To prevent the goddess from recognizing him and punishing him, Moguro covered his face with palm leaves - and so he went on all his life, fearing for his skin. The descendants of that moguro have long forgotten who they are hiding from, but the craving for masks is alive in them to this day..
