Description of the problem:
In the mission he asks you to put on a costume but I have pressed R unintentionally and I have taken it off. Now I can't put it back on, how do I get to put it back on to complete the mission?

Usually the costume is presented by an item in your inventory. You can click it any time to put it on.
If it doesn't helps with this quest, I think you can try to abandon it and start again.
