The stream is muted by default. I've just double checked it in the latest version of chrome. Muted for me. In which browser you're getting this issue?
As for the autoplay, yes, I'm promoting that channel. The stream is shown on the main page only and only when the stream is actually live.

Checked this in the Firefox and it's muted for me as well. However, it seems the browser remembers the sound on/off state, so if you enabled the sound for similar embed elsewhere, it could be on by default. I've disabled the autoplay for now.
